NQT induction and support
Why do we collect and use your information?
Thornden School acts as an appropriate body for the statutory induction for newly qualified teachers (NQT) and provides support and guidance to NQT’s mentors and head teachers to ensure that assessments are an accurate overview of progress against teacher standards, that any anomalies are corrected, and additional support is provided when required. We act as the link between NQT’s, Schools and the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).
Thornden School is regulated under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which applies across the the European Union and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of the personal information collected. Our data protection officer is Mrs Kelly Robinson
The categories of student information that we collect, hold and share include:
Personal information (such as name, contact details, date of birth, qualifications)
Meeting notes, assessment and actions
Teacher Reference Number (TRN)
Dates that qualified teacher status (QTS) was awarded
Storing data
We hold this data in accordance with our retention schedule
